You miss the point entirely. Growth is not a simple matter of doubling, etc. Not in a finite marketplace. Growing a *large* business by many billions of dollars in annual sales is significant. It is quite a challenge to even maintain high revenues in a relatively 'saturated' and mature business. Seeing a *small* company double, triple, or quintuple their sales in a year or 2 is *not* as significant. It is relatively easy to expand in whole-number multiples when you start out small. It is *much* harder to expand significantly when you are already a large company with billions in revenues.

GE's survival and growth is impressive in terms of actual revenues and size; the revenue "multiplier" is *not* a valid comparison when the magnitude of revenues differ widely. I understood your post and disagree with your interpretation of the figures. Do you understand mine?
