Ram, I would have to agree... I understood the $17 bid to be just the first offer -- a starting point. My valuation approach for VLSI comes from the Value Line Investment survey. According to VL, VLSI should be earning $2.00 per share in the 3-5 year time horizon. Applying a PE of 25 to 30 on those earnings gives us a price of $50 to $60 (in that time frame).. Even half that projected (out year) price should give a current price of $25 to $ 30 per share. Anything less is under fair value, imho... dlo
