Re:"all in all, i think this is pretty well priced into the stock."

I think that the yield, layoff, and loss info released today are fresh, but important confirmations that all is not well. I have indicated before that I believed for AMD to succeed EVERYTHING had to go near perfectly. But their track record (and I include the board of directors) is wildly short of setting the stage for perfect execution. This is an "uh-oh" company (happens almost like clockwork). My personal guess is that they pushed the operating frequency (MHz) specs a notch or two too far (most likely they felt that they had to - no matter what their process people told them) and the chickens are REALLY coming home to roost. The only good news is that the stock price is already low so it probably won't go too far down. But it will go down. There will probably be takeover speculation. This should be one volatile player for the next few weeks.
