MINNEAPOLIS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 8, 1999--RAINFOREST CAFE, A WILD
PLACE TO SHOP AND EAT(R), today reported domestic net sales of $17.9 million for the
four-week period ended February 28, 1999, an increase of 48 percent from domestic net sales of
$12.1 million for the same period in fiscal 1998. Comparable store sales for the seven units open for
at least 18 months decreased 11 percent for the four weeks ended February 28, 1999 compared to
the same four-week period in fiscal 1998. This represents an improvement over the January 1999
comparable store sales, which decreased 17 percent.
