SOCKET 7 - SOCKET 8 - DAUGHTERBOARD SOCKET/SLOT Issues

AMD has access to Socket 7

AMD does not have the intellectual property rights that would enable them to access socket 8. Since it appears that iNTEL is abandoning this socket, it would appear to hold diminished importance for the future.

Does anyone have any insights into the issues associated with access to the Daughterboard Socket/Slot.

I am convinced that this or alternative development paths will prove to be crucial to AMD's not too distant future.

Regards,

DARBES
