By default I refer to certain firms as market makers because thats my relationship with them. But many of these firms have trading desk, institutional desks, retail desks, brokers, hedge funds, etc. For that reason, I would say the position doesnt come from the trading desk inventorybut more one of the firms' fund position. Actually could come from a retail investor if the firm has an inventory. regards, Steve
