KJ Duke, which internet company is making money and has a good business model? EBAY who used to sell flak jackets,AK-47's(used to),and children? EBAY who has more criminals in prison on their web site than the total in the Florida Prison system in my opinion? These are just my opinions and nothing here is based on facts. How about AMZN whose distributor was bought out by another book seller,I believe is was Barnes and Knoble and who has very little inventory of their own? Name one internet company where competition is not fierce and margins hovering around 1% and losses mounting? EBAY who is selling conterfieted software? Come on, none of these companies have a legitimate business model, and there is no barrier to entry of competition. The big news might be the FCC ruling last week, making ISP calls long distance, that could change ISP fees to resemble those abroad, and destroy AOL's model. AOL is having trouble overseas because there are companies charging nothing for internet access, and sharing the revenue streams of pet minute charges with the local telephone companies. Who has a legitimate business model? YHOO who derives significant revenue from the parent Softbank, and who in bad times, when advertising budgets are slashed will sink like a stone? ATHM who has a p/sales of 300,and whose network will cost billions of dollars to build? You get what you pay for, free commentary, immediate information with very little meaning, and absolutely no wisdom. Hiram |
