You ignored it because you are afraid to find out it is true (it is) and if it is, it would debase your argument. It has little to do with being anecdotal OR meaningless. You recognize the signs that your view is badly skewed and you choose to refute it (as is typical) by burying your head in the sand.

EVERYONE has the OPPORTUNITY to break out of the "net" and many do. If I described my upbringing to you, and you came to visit me now, you'd be shocked. I am not the person I was "socialized" to be. I recognized the fallacies of strict Catholic upbringing and the guilt it carried.
Also, I rejected the rural atmosphere of my upbringing and moved to the city....
I have rejected all of my early past to focus on the future. You don't know my background, so don't judge it.

She IS off the hook, as far as your condemnation of her is concerned. Whether they are affluent or not, kids worry about the same stuff. It has little to do with her cash or her environment. It has to do with being young and unattractive and the need to be included and feel wanted. It's a shame she fell for those needs.
She isn't off the hook for being a slut, though. She chose that route.
