Regarding furniture over the internet, I once even managed to convince Chuzzlewit (for those that don't know him, a fundamentals to the extreme kinda guy) that appliances would work as a profitable enterprise over the internet (Furniture - same thing). He is like you guys and doesn't believe Amzn will ever be profitable - not sure if you, D. Taylor feel that way but many here do.

Furniture and appliances are so expensive from a logistics standpoint that direct delivery from the factory will save beaucoup bucks for almost everybody. The shortage from inventory obsolescence is astronomical and delivery is typically a 3-hop process. I am anxiously awaiting an online Henredon retailer - I know it will be much cheaper than buying things at Breuners, probably by 20% or more.

Interesting that internet retailing has a secondary effect of increasing revenue for quality brands. Since I can't see the goods I will insist on a brand name I know. That is kind of what happened with online PC sales but no one really acknowledges it.
