What, me worry???

It seems that there has been a lot of speculation regarding which of the two companies, ERC or EVERCEL, one should bet on. Some posters seem to think that the battery group will be more profitable, at least short term, while others have expressed the thought that ERC, in spinning-off the battery group, was expressing lack of confidence in the battery group. Other people seem to be concerned about the reduction in money given to ERC by DOE and the effect which this will have on the timetable for the fuel cell commercialization.

Unless ERC has made a colossal error in judgement, I tend to accept the management's explanation. If the company really believes that the battery group will soon be producing profits, and if they were at all concerned about financing of the fuel cell research and development efforts, I would think that the company would have held on to the battery group so that they could apply the profits to the fuel cell group, where long-term the profits are hoped to be huge.

Any thoughts?
