Don't you think it's likely that a tourist coming to the US is fond of it? I wouldn't visit a country I was displeased with (I refuse to return to Paris...except if my wife wants to go in spring - I'll grant her that one wish - but that'll be the last time). Students, in particular, are predisposed to enjoy what the US has to offer. However, they often reject much of it upon their return to their country of origin. Many, once they are out of school, consider the US decadent and arrogant......you probably agree with the first, and fulfill the second.
