What a fantastic opportunity for Mr. Schwartz and G. The engineer management is retiring. He has done well in bringing G to where it is today. Now, it's time to bring in a person with vast commercial telecom experience. No pocket protectors needed(my apologies to those packing a pocket protector). Maybe we could scam someone from Worldcom, or Level 3. Some of the MFS people perhaps. An AirTouch exec might be available since the VOD merger will result in redundancy. A VOD exec would be fine too. Young and hungry. Slather him(or her) up with options and go to work. Bring in a big name. One that will bring a sense of excitement and hype to G*. A person we can trust to NOT do what Iridium has done. This is the chance of a corporate lifetime to shed the aerospace/defense image and run straight into the telecom services business, and the resulting higher valuations that entails. Anyone listening????
