Computerized Thermal Imaging Announces $7 Million Investment

March 8, 1999 11:57 AM
OGDEN, Utah, March 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Computerized Thermal Imaging, Inc. COII (CTI) today announced a commitment for equity investment of $7 million by Beach Boulevard, LLC. The terms of the agreement allow the company to receive $1.5 million immediately upon the necessary SEC approvals, and the remainder available in installments over the next year. The number of shares issued will be based on the stock price at the time each installment is requested.
"I'm excited to announce this event," said company president, David Packer. "This $7 million commitment, along with the other recently announced investments, represents the resources needed to complete our clinical trials and submit the results to the FDA. With this funding available, we can focus on completing the trials and the preparation of the necessary FDA submittals. We can also move forward in the worker's compensation screening project."

Computerized Thermal Imaging, Inc. develops and deploys thermal imaging and associated technologies for use in the enhancement of medical screening, diagnosis and patient management. Ongoing clinical trials are being conducted to test the efficacy of CTI's technology used in conjunction with clinical examination and/or mammography to increase the ability of physicians examining suspicious breast abnormalities to differentiate benign and malignant tissue. Preliminary testing of the system is very encouraging. Results indicate that the system may be able to decrease the number of benign biopsies performed by up to 38%.
