I do not know what this is worth to the thread but I still have a few of the access systems that Counterforce and Cansec Systems designed quite a few years ago.

Card Alarm was ahead of its time in that it allowed a user to both disarm the access system as well as disarm the alarm panel. I have a location in Durham with three of these units installed and they have worked very well.

I hope this idea of using the fingerprint to do the same job as an access card is what the news release is getting at. This also means the system will run under DC only if required.

I for one will want to market this type of product as security is taking many steps forward at this time and not using pass codes or access cards will be the way to go.

This will also cut down on false dispatches as the user without access never gets inside the protected location. In the past if a person had a key they could find out the hard way that the code they had did not work the alarm.
