Pat...
I have read your post three times, and I can not find much disagreement in what you have said, in fact I believe you and I agree in more points that you may realize.
Like you I have never claimed that lack of money makes you evil, but by the same token the pursuit for money does not make you evil either.
Being evil has more to do with NOT being honest and NOT being consistent with what one says.... at least in my eyes.
I just hate bleeding hearts crying "how bad it is out in the world" and the negative vibrations that go with it... Yet they do not do a damned thing about it.
I for one don't claim to be one that wants to be a martyr, nor I feel guilt for the misdeeds and wrong decisions that others have made, in short, it is not my problem. I did not create it, nor I claim I have the perfect solution.
Like you, I do not believe that poverty is an excuse for indecency, or worse, becoming a criminal.
In fact, I see as criminal, the attitude that, (for example), the Catholic Church has had towards Latin America (and other areas), in reference to the lack of education provided by their legions of missions, that supposedly function as charitable institutions in reference to "family planning".
This has allowed the pro-creation of millions of peasants that simply can not afford to feed, educate, nor care in a basic and decent way.
Why ?
Beats the hell out of me, can not find a shred of logic in that.
All in the name of nonsensical images of mystical gods, saints and demons, that have no tangible evidence of their existence. As I said, their deeds are more evil, (and evident), than what they claim to "protect' these people from...
Instead they treat them as sacrificial animals in the worship of myths, creating guilt among the masses in the process. I refuse to be participant of this charade.
I would rather have a positive attitude and set example by deed not word. This is something I can do, and I will do.
I insists, that we have never been better and the future is brighter than ever.
Do we have problems? Sure we do, but bleeding hearts are not going to solve one damned thing.
As for being a Latino Limbaugh... hardly so, for starters I fail the definition of a conservative, since I am an atheist... thank god <g>.
Neither am I a liberal, like you I pay no attention to "labels" anyway. I follow my own drum beat.
As for friends.... oh well, I have always lost popularity contest so I am not worried. |
