I'm back at the "fill the gaps" problem. The way I see it, if those in the know see a gap and figure it must be filled and so have confidence in their ability to sell into that pop, what they are really saying is that everyone buying up past the gap is wrong. This, in the case of a situation like AXC, in the face of news about new developments, seems to assume that insider buying is always taking place in that the price before the news is assumed to reflect the news and additionally, that there is no value in the value placed on the stock outside insider trades. This just does not make sense to me.
Yesterday, mid-day, there was a gap down. Does this mean that everyone who sold down-past that gap down was wrong?

Something still seems to be missing in my understanding of the psychology of the gap, a gap in my understanding that begs to be filled.
