Well practically it is not, but philosophically it is. To be killed because of race makes the statement that the immutable characteristic of skin color is, as you have said, “wrong”. There is no way for the person inflicted with a “wrong” race to ever civilly be “right”. Such a person philosophically must die should a group arise that considers it acceptable to kill on the basis of race. These sorts of killings cannot be tolerated because they represent a philosophical gun to the heads of anyone who happens to be the "wrong" color. In a nutshell, they represent guns to all our heads-- guns that cannot be removed without the removal of the offending philosophy and group.

The person with the $20 dollar bill could be “right” in that he could at least feign poverty.
