Some thoughts inane, and some thoughts serious:
First, the serious stuff, (well, kind of!)
Almost two years ago when I got involved with Dell it was selling at around $100 -- that was four splits ago so in today's terms it would be $6.25. The Burkites were hollering then that it was worth only around $2, but what can I say, I'm a sucker for a pretty face! Anyway, today the Burkites are hollering that the stock is worth what? around $15? So, being the absolute sucker that I am, let's assume that Dell totally tanked and fell to $15. Where would I be? My annualized rate of return would be only 54.9%!!!! Horrors. Now maybe the question should be asked: was I just luck? Or maybe we saw something in this magnificent company that the Burkites didn't see. By the way, the actual holding period rate of return is a mere 168% per annum.
So anyway, I was thinking about the Burkeville bears with Underwood portables, and it occured to me that you met the modern ones. The average one is still using a quill pen, and there is a rumor that the older generation uses chisels for communication on stone tablets. And that is why Michael Burke has a following. All of his answers are carved in stone! We are getting the 11th through the whatever commandments.
Here is a logo the William Wager came up with for me: do you like it?
