Having worked there...I can categorically say several things:
Welch will spin...as I am sure he is right now
CNBC will not surpass NBC in revies in the next 10 years
Co-Marketing doesn't generate much revenue, but DOES add considerable costs.

I don't doubt that Welch loves his babies. They're excellent properties. But NBC is hitting its cyclical decline (as all nets do) and GE will benefit by getting rid of it and its subsidiaries. That's the reason for the spin.

I was there for the 1992 Olympic comarketing "Triple Cast". What marketing genius came up with that one?
