Sterling is definitely a competitor. They acquired Cayenne Software and merged it into their application development group. Remember, Lockheed Martin is a huge company- they are/were one of Rational's 10 largest accounts. I don't think this means that Rational was tossed out, but it is something to consider.

I can't tell whether this was an exclusive selection or whether this group was "approving" tools which could then be acquired internally. It would seem, given the name of the group, that it is the latter but I can't be sure.
