i'd settle for seeing COMS at 59 again. seriously, you ask a very good question. one which i am not prepared to respond to in detail. other than to say that when he publicly stated 7-10 days prior to this latest preannouncement that "everything is on track", imo, he raped an awful lot of shareholders. generally speaking, i also think that he lacks "street management" skills. in fact, that is being kind. how many times have we seen the stock tumble when benhamou talks? finally, i would add that fewer and fewer people seem to have faith and trust in him. and whether that is deserved or not becomes a moot point, because the effect of that perception spells "poor performance" from one end of the company to the other. so, doug, as originally stated, nothing esoteric here. just a clear and concise belief on my part that eric benhamou isn't running 3com properly, and that he is probably looking out for himself with far greater interest than he is the shareholders. bwdik :) mark
