MAR,

I.B.M. engineers were quoted as saying that they "had barely scratched the surface" with S.O.I. technology. 1Ghz isn't bad for barely scratching the surface. I am hoping that I.B.M. has really taken a liking to the technology, in which case quaint little IBIS is quite attractive. The I.B.M. V.P. was quoted saying "The industry will move to SOI technology. It's just a matter of time." The whole industry???

IBIS can only produce roughly 2 machines per quarter. Should a customer decide to go into full production they would need a dozen of two of the machines. Maybe even substantially more. It occurs to me that in this scenario IBIS would need help producing the machines. It looks like a pretty good speculative play to me.
