Thanks to DMccoy4428, the IOM analyst for First Montauk Securites, for posting the following on the AOL IOM Fool Board:
<< (COMTEX) B: NEC to Roll out Click! Mini Memory Drives in May B: NEC to Roll out Click! Mini Memory Drives in May
Mar 09, 1999, (Comline via COMTEX) -- In March, NEC (6701) will commence mass production of its Click! memory modules for PDAs and other small portable devices such as cameras. Sales will begin in May. The USB-compatible Click! is available in three models 5-, 6.5- and 10-mm thick. ....... >>
Obviously, Iomega doesn't consider this to be news .... well, Iomega announced the plan for NEC to produce USB Clik! a while back ... so it is not news to Iomega... and it is not a news release from Iomega either .......
However, it is very impressive just to read: IN MARCH, NEC WILL COMMENCE MASS PRODUCTION OF ITS CLIK! ........ IN MARCH ...MASS PRODUCTION .... IN MARCH ..... MASS PRODUCTION .... But, NO, it is not news ....
..... And SALES WILL BEGIN IN MAY .... Wow ... But Iomega doesn't have control over that, and Iomega doesn't say that either ... it must not be considered Iomega news ....
Now, about those 5-, 6.5- and 10-mm thicknesses ... what do they have to do with USB or NEC? I thought NEC was going to do USB Clik! only .... that 5mm Clik! seems to be PCMCIA TYPE II OEM Clik! drive ....
Whatever ...it must not be news ....at least not Iomega's news ....
Just a lay stockholder's humble opinions and questions. As "usaul", I may be wrong. NovW |
