Darn soap opera to be down five when TI is in the DSP business. You can argue that maybe the price is ahead of itself, but these swings are ridiculous. A little like Qualcomm tanking on the SEA scare a little more than a year ago, with everyone saying how bad Korean economy was, when they forgot Koreans were manufacturing handsets to be sold elsewhere in the world, especially US. Fear crosses reason on particular companies. Very frustrating to us investors who are looking at the businesses of individual companies. I mentioned to a number of friends how irrational the downturn was a couple of weeks ago because TI was not in the PC chip business; felt vindicated through noon today. Whole situation makes you wonder. The only answer is to get off the net, not watch TV, and only check stock prices once a month or less.
