Here's an interesting article about the "dark side" of daytrading and market-timing. cbs.marketwatch.com I believe the author rather grossly overstates the problem, although admitting that some folks can't handle on-line investing. I'm not sure what you do about it, though; people with that problem need to get help, that's about all you can say. Great posts on Canada ETrade. If there is one single reason to stay long (and I think there are many), the almost certain success of ETrade's international agreements is the most persuasive; when they fully flower in four or five years, this company will be unbelievable.
