BellSouth, PageNet to announce wireless alliance NEW YORK, March 9 (Reuters) - BellSouth Wireless Data and Paging Network Inc. are planning to make a "wireless industry announcement" on Wednesday that a spokeswoman said relates to an alliance between the companies. BellSouth Wireless, a unit of regional phone carrier BellSouth Corp. that offers two-way paging and messaging, and PageNet, the No. 1 U.S. paging service, have scheduled a press conference for 1100 EST/1600 GMT on Wednesday. The announcement relates to an alliance between the companies, but does not concern a merger, according to a PageNet spokeswoman. The announcement will contain pricing information for a new service, but not financial terms of the agreement between the companies, she added.
