I am still not clear on what the actual U.K. death rate is for mengicoccal sepsis was or is. And this goes double for grade 8 and above on the famed Glascow scale. From the statistics it looks like about 10% for all cases, regardless of stage on the scale. This would imply a higher rate among those at 8 and above. I do not think the death rate is lower for these patients. I think the Brits have something with their awareness campaign and the so called bottle test.Will never understand why the U.S. does not want to give at least some publicity to this test. As a parent, I think it is easy to understand and probably would get people to seek treatment faster.
