I think it developed pretty naturally out of women's rage at being excluded from most sorts of power.

I think you're right; I would add that there was probably a good deal of resentment at the way men were using their power.

I think that a big chunk of the disenchantment with feminism has stemmed from the discovery that going off to the office every day and earning money is not as entertaining and empowering as it might have looked in the eyes of those who weren't allowed to do it.

Another big chunk stems from the fact that many of those who are now disenchanted with feminism never experienced the days when women had virtually no choices at all.

The feminist movement has probably accomplished more measurable gains than any of the '60's-vintage liberation drives. Those gains have not translated into guaranteed happiness; any expectation that they would was certainly misplaced from the very beginning. That does not in any way make the gains unimportant, and it certainly doesn't mean we should go back to the old ways.
