The Best Thing Since Blue Jeans: Jagged Edge Rocks the Outdoor Retailer Trade Show
TELLURIDE, Colo., Feb. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Jagged Edge Mountain Gear, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: JEMG - news) expects wholesale orders for 1999 to top $1 million following their success at Salt Lake City's recent Outdoor Retailer Trade Show. The trade show, the industry's largest and most prestigious, resulted in more than $100,000 in orders from retailers plus sample orders for Japanese brokers. This is a huge jump from the $450,000 in wholesale revenue originally projected for 1999.
A constant swarm of buyers gave Jagged Edge the industry's ultimate stamp of approval. The Jagged Edge booth was only set up to give two showings of the line but, because of incredible demand, up to five showings at a time were being given. The booth was packed beyond capacity for the entire show, and an overflow of anxious buyers spilled out into the hallways and blocked restrooms. The response at the Outdoor Retailer show proves yet again that Jagged Edge is the best thing since blue jeans.

Jagged Edge To Upgrade Web Site
Climber Bobbi Bensman Named Company's First Sales Rep
TELLURIDE, Colo., Jan. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Jagged Edge Mountain Gear (OTC Bulletin Board: JEMG - news) today announced they are in negotiations to enlist the Z Michaels agency to revitalize their Web site. The announcement is part of the many positive moves the company is making to ensure continued positive revenue growth and expansion.
Jagged Edge Mountain Gear, launched in 1991, is a designer and manufacturer of cold weather outerwear (jackets, pants and accessories). Marketing to wholesalers worldwide, through its own retail stores (Telluride, Ouray, Mountain Village, Breckenridge and Crested Butte, Colo.), catalog mail order (increased 1998 printing by 390%), and direct to major corporations (Bayer Aspirin and Purina Mills), a strict agenda is in place to make Jagged Edge a major international brand in competition with established names such as Patagonia, Mountain Hardware and Sierra Designs.
Z Michaels, a New York-based creative agency that has grown from a catalog specialist to include Web site design, is contracting with Jagged Edge Mountain Gear to vitalize and add more design to their site. While the site, www.jagged-edge.com has been successful, it is believed that Michael Aronowitz can take the site to the next level The changes will encompass both design and site address marketing, which are expected to increase Jagged Edge's web sales, catalog requests and brand-name recognition. Because the changes are made offline, there will be no interruption to the site.
A commission-only sales representative force is another positive move for Jagged Edge this winter. Jagged Edge Executive Vice President Paula Quenemoen said. ''Our first representative, Bobbi Bensman, brings further credibility to Jagged Edge's authenticity because she is recognized as one of the finest sport rock climbers in the world.'' Jagged Edge will begin with 6 representatives and increase the sales force as necessary.
In addition to plans for an upgraded Web site and enlisting a sales force, Jagged Edge President Margaret Quenemoen has just completed a consolidated business plan that details these and other practical steps to increase the company's bottom line.
