Michael, this thread has actually been invaded several times by Christians from the Ask God thread, preaching and hoping to "save" us. Shalom has been very polite here. I guess you simply cannot understand that for people who are not Christian, any reference can be offensive. I have not gone out of my way to denounce Christianity, incidentally, and I always try to stay polite and talk about ideas and feelings, not try to convert others. Why do Christians seem to believe that I want to hear about their Christianity whenever I have a problem?? Since I think it is no secret here that I am a pagan, why would someone wish something on me that makes no sense to me? I don't say "Go with Pan", or "Blessed be!" or refer to the Goddess when I talk to people, because I like to keep my beliefs fairly private and not inflict them on people who do not share them. I would never tell you what I get up to in the forest late at night, under the full moon!!! Since I do not believe in Christianity OR God, I find all references offensive, actually, and I would also totally disagree with your blanket statement that religion has done more good than harm throughout history.
But this is the Feelings thread, and I don't want it to turn into a nasty debate. As I said before, there are lots of Christians here, and I am not hearing the others whose opinions I value say that I have been offensive. Have I? But anyway, thanks for sharing your feelings!!
