Hi pals, anyone taken a stroll through Spring '99 Internet World yet? Noticed anything interesting? First thing I notice is, who is NOT there with an exhibitors booth....
No networks are there (except Go.com which is Disney's)
No big cable Co's like USAI and TWX and VO are there.
AOL is there, MSFT is there, smaller IAP's are not.
No major studios are there, but there are some unheard-ofs.
AMZN, GNET, & XCIT are not there, but LCOS & YHOO are there.
No big puter mfgs. are there except for IBM.
ATT is there, LU is there, SBC & other Baby Bells are not there.
UPS and US Postal are there, FEDEX is not there.
Seems to be mostly scattered Bigs and then mostly many interesting new little guys taking up the slack for the mids & the spoken-fors.
Of course, at this show it might be a real yawn to run a display booth for some of these Co's. who might just send their Mr. Bigs to stroll the fairgrounds and eavesdrop alongside the rest of us Netnut Looky-Loos and investors.
Probably doesn't mean anything; whose there, who isn't and why or why not maybe. But it sure is fun to Wunnerfitz, isn't it?!

Joan
