rhet, finally a scenario that (halfway) makes sense. A regional chain with a profitable business model could make sense as a potential acquirer. I say halfway, though, because while it may seem attractive to a regional chain to pick up 200 locations at distressed prices, how likely is it that CPU would put itself on the block for distressed prices? They've got some turning around to do first - if they can. Then they might be able to attract bids at a price they could accept. If they can't turn it around, then it will go at very distressed prices.
