Here's some news from this mornings Atlanta Constitution:

The headline is: CheckFree shares bounce back after partner's lawsuit

Here are a few excerpts (article hasn't made it out to ajc.com):

Few people have seen the lawsuit. Intuit asked the Superior Court of Santa Clara, CA to seal the file four hours after it filed the suit, according to the court clerk's office.

...

Steve Franco, an analyst with Piper Jaffray, in San Francisco, said the stock price rebounded because the lawsuit is "much ado about nothing."

Franco said he has not seen the court filing, but believes it involves CheckFree's negotiations with America Online to offer Web-based bill paying and bill presenting, as well as the question of whether the negotiations infringed on an earlier Intuit agreement with Intuit.

"This is something they'll work out," Franco said. "It just might have the effect of dragging out AOL's ability to roll out the CheckFree service."

Franco said that he did not think CheckFree's reported distribution deal with Yahoo!, a high traffic Internet portal, would be affected by the Intuit suit, since Intuit did not have an earlier agreement with Yahoo!

...

Franco maintains a 12-month target price on CheckFree of $53. He recommends the stock as a "strong buy".

I think that writer has been reading this thread <g>. Good day all...
