Cheryl, I received the following PM from Bob the SI Administrator. I told him that I was going to bring this discussion into the sunshine because I believe SI should clarify this matter for everyone. IMO, SI's integrity could be compromised by some of its users if such users are allowed to manipulate SI's technology with little if any recourse. FYI, Bob's answer is preceded by the post of mine to which he was responding:
[mine to Cheeky] No, like she said, you somehow were able to replace her message with yours. I have NEVER seen that happen on SI until you pulled it off. How in the world did you manage that? Cozy relations with someone at SI? Mastered the technique for nabbing passwords? If so, please do tell! Reasonable minds want to know. Maybe you know more about computers than I thought!
[Bob's reply] That post was post 4442 in that thread.
If I delete post 4440, your post would become post 4441. That's the way it's always worked.
Regards,
SI Admin (Bob)
I appreciate Bob taking the time to provide an explanation of what he believes occured re Cheeky. If I recall correctly, however, you indicated that your message disappeared, and a post from Cheeky took its place, under the same post number. I am correct?
