It turns out that this didn't post when it was supposed to...I will do you the courtesy of responding to these posts, but I am just about at the end of my rope, as far as this thread is concerned.

You appeared to have changed your tune because you improperly referred to covenants as zoning regulations, when they are two different things. Thus, I was correct in saying that to you, property rights are absolute, and therefore trump all arguments that would modify them for "the common good".

We are in agreement that a market economy is best, and that property rights must be accorded a great deal of respect within that system. We are not in agreement that property rights are absolute, and that there is never any cause for qualifying them. Since you have thus far not proven that property rights are absolute, either as a matter of morality or of prudence, there is no reason to concede that they trump all other considerations. That is where we are.
