Good Morning gang,

Sorry I'm not contributing much lately. I've got a trip on Friday, a meeting to get ready for tomorrow afternoon, and on top of that I woke up feeling lousy - flu like again <groan>.

Other than the volume on DELL, ORCL, LCOS, AMZN, AOL and CPQ it is a light day so far. The jump in the prices of gold stocks is not encouraging, nor is the number of small and relatively insignificant stocks on the most up and gap lists. The latter speaks to hesitation in the market and failure of the last few day upswing to break out.

However, the 1279 on the SPX right now isn't a bad sign at all, as its only down a quarter of a point. If the volume picks up andthe advances keep ahead of the declines (200 better on the NYSE, 100 more on the NAS) it could end up as a positive day. I don't know of any significant economic numbers coming out, and haven't checked the bond market yet, but will in a bit.
