There are now 3 Telcos in Canada. Bell Canada, B.C Telus & AT&T Canada.
Do you know who is the Main eqpt supplier to each of the above.?
Also who do you think is best positioned to succeed in the next 5 yrs.?
The above are certainly among the top TELCO, but, there are also SPRINT who just bought Fonorola who had a natioanl and intra US fiber network, Quebec Telephone, smaller TELCO in the maritimes, etc.
Bell Canada use a lot of Newbridge 36170, Nortel, CISCO, as for the ATM it is shared between NT and NNC.
Sprint / Fonorola have a lot of TDM/frame from NNC some ATM from both NNC and another supplier.
AT&T is NNC for TDM and to be announced for ATM i believe.
BCTel is primarly NNC
Qubec Tel as well.
As for who will succeed, do not forget the Wireless coming in, also Cable company are hungry about the voice network and some have them have large fiber network. The top 3 winners in a few years...your guess is just as good as mine. |
