MB, why not start a run for Mayor?
JFK Jr. for mayor? Wednesday, 10 March 1999 12:06 (GMT)
(UPI Focus) JFK Jr. for mayor? NEW YORK, March 10 (UPI) - The press conference was supposed to be to announce that Alfonse D'Amato will soon be writing a political advice column for John F. Kennedy Jr.'s magazine, George. But the former U.S. senator turned yesterday's media event at Manhattan's Le Cirque 2000 into well, a media circus, by suggesting his new boss run for mayor of New York City. Asked if that was his plan, Kennedy replied, "Uh, not today." Pushed by reporters to reveal whether he could see himself in public office, Kennedy quipped: "I can see myself lying on the beach in a hammock, so I can see myself in elective office, too." D'Amato said that Kennedy is handling everything the right way. He said: "He's got that electricity. He's got that persona. He can do and be whatever he chooses, and he will choose in the fullness of time to pursue public office." -- Copyright 1999 United Press International. All rights reserved. --
