The details of the deal are still being ironed out. I believe it is to be announced on Monday although it hit the San Francisco papers last Wednesday. Essentially, the 3 companies are working together to make their components connect together more easily and be more easily configurable. It is difficult to see who will actually "gain" the most from it. I believe they all will since they all supply slightly different components in the mix (Cisco routers, Ascend ISDN components, and Stratacom ATM switches). It basically becomes more likely that the components will be bought and serviced as a package.

I don't see too much overlap between USRX and ASND products just yet. USRX is servicing more of the consumer or client side with their low cost modems (they only have 1 ISDN model right now) while ASND is providing the server side with their multi-channel ISDN products.
