On Microsoft,

I agree. I think this industry is less affected by MS-FUD 1.0 than say the networking biz. Possible exception would be Lotus and the internet server technology side.

I have never run into a DM client where MS was brought up as a potential solution. A remarkable number of high end prospects subscribe to the typical advisory services, and of course until now, Microsoft would not have been on their lips.

Will that change? Possibly, but doubt it.

For the next 12 months I expect little impact. As MS gets closer to defining what it is that they are up to, I'll pause then.

On the Workflow side, they've been talking about Exchange as a workflow platform for some time, and Eastman and Keyfile seem to be the most visible supporters of this. One down..., although I'm not at all opposed to using messaging as part of work management. Just the right parts.

On the KM side we do see Microsoft mentioned occasionally. "Why don't we just use Site Server/Index Server instead of DOCSFulcrum?". Never lost a deal to index server yet. Do we miss some that we don't even hear about, sure.

I view this as an anti-Lotus campaign rather than anything that will undermine what we are doing. Not only do they need a product, turning the MCP delivery channel into DM/KM/WM experts is not going to happen.

At least not soon.
