alot of rumor surrounding CPQ missing first QT .33 consensus with slow PC growth here
and abroad. Conversations with IR confirm this BUT the Qt is not over yet and other parts
of CPQ's business are doing well, they continue to stand by the original guidance.

An interesting post from the investors club, make your own judgements:

in going over all the numbers out from Q4, revised forecasts for Q1 and "known" Q1
numbers, i have come to the conclusion that Q1 units should be in line with what we
need to make estimates. Q1 is traditionally soft anyway and with the Y2K excesses
lopped off we should be right on. i'll keep my guess of .37 to be optimistic but i believe
at this point it will be between .35-.37.

last friday E.P. issued a letter to all upper management at CPQ that he shared their
concern about the recent slide in share price and stated that there was lighter sales in
the commercial desktop market, market softness in euro., l.a. and n.a. but that high end
was doing very well as was services. inventory was low and that Q1 goals would be met.
he stated that a strong march will help Q2.
