The similarities between Buddhism and Christianity are also shared by other religions, major and minor. It is true that there could have been direct contact. It could also be a case of parallel realization that the common good would be be better served if people were decent to each other instead of being obnoxious. I suspect that most groups, left alone for a certain amount of time, would eventually produce individuals that would come to this conclusion.

Parallel manifestations, perhaps, of Jung's collective unconscious? At least with Terrence off in Ghana I can say that without provoking combat.

Can you tell that I don't feel like thinking about the things I should be thinking about? I wonder how much thought is provoked by procrastination. In my case, most of it.
