<< think archival storage is best suited for the "network" as a whole. If I want to watch a replay of the seminal sporting event of the century (with all prejudices intact), I eventually will be able to connect to ESPN.com or a fictional entertainment.com and call up the 6th game of the 1975 World Series or the last episode of MASH or the 3/12/99 edition of Wall Street Week. I don't need to store it locally. >> I believe the operative word is "eventually" an that that may be a gross understatement.
