How horrible about the trees! I agree, what you were thinking would have been funny, but I don't know if I would make jokes at the expense of men with chain saws. I don't want to get into the parenthesis thing until I track down something I read a long time ago, to the effect that conventions about punctuation were invented by printers. I am not sure I want a bunch of printers telling me how to place punctuation marks.
