You heard it hear first!

I just received the abstract book of studies that will be presented at the 1999 AUA Annual Meeting on May 1-6, 1999. Expect major positive news will be made for Viagra including safety in ED patients with stable angina (#808) and use in Women (#805).

The results of the first double-blind placebo controlled study in 17 post-menopausal women will be presented by Dr. Irwin Goldstein and Dr. Jennifer Berman. This study was sponsored by Boston University without support from Pfizer. Here are the conclusions:

"Using this methodology, sildenafil appears to enhance the female sexual response to visual and vibratory stimulation. Pre-and post stimulation vaginal pH levels were significantly increased with sildenafil compared to placebo. Genital blood flow, primarily clitoral, increased as well. In this population of women, vasoactive agents such as sildenafil may improve sexual complaints associated with diminished genital blood flow."
