Elmer - RE: "layoffs" Intel has their share of those. "Poor pay" How much of a difference, if any, is there between what Intel and AMD engineers make? (Not counting options.) "bungled manufacturing" What about Intel's "bungled" FLAW, err, erratum in mobile chips? RE: "project cancelations" Such as? "looming bankruptcy" Maybe when the K6 wasn't manufacturable, but not now. Everything else you said is true.
