<<<Warning!! Non IOM post!!! >>>>>

"The ability to dismiss, in such a benign fashion, the lives, work, and dedication of persons who grew this company bespeaks a truly cavalier attitude on your part."

What!!! This is AMERICA not the USSR! Nobody is guaranteed a job or a happy life. The Iomega workers that were laid off have to be responsible for their own welfare. Anyone who holds an unskilled job and expects to be employed forever without at least attempting to gain some work skills valued by employers is gambling with their happiness and financial security. I imagine many of the workers laid off were highly trained and should have no problem gaining new employment (especially since IOM said they would help with job searches etc.) at other firms. They may have to relocate, but that is life! It sounds harsh, but the virtues of self-reliance, independence and risk-taking were the building blocks of America in the beginning and are just as important today. Unfortunately today many people are unwilling to take responsibility for their lives, haven't been taught self-reliance and are afraid of taking risks. As the rest of the world moves toward freedom, independence and capitalism, many in America want to move toward socialism (Unions, NAACP, ACLU, DNC, etc. etc.)

Enough said. I just needed to let off some steam.
