I've been trying to learn what I can about the bandwidth companies. It's nearly impossible to assimilate so much information in any decent span of time. There's so many players, and picking a winning technology is requires trying to assimilate information from several sources. SI is good for this but it takes alot of time/effort to get a good feel. Telecom Companies I'm looking into:

Of course: Lucent, Cisco, Nortel.
Carriers: AT&T, MCIWorldcom, Sprint
High capacity fiber: Corning (GLW) and Lucent (LU).
Others: Ciena, Tellabs.
Wireless: Qualcom, Nokia, Ericson.
Cable TV companies: Lots of them.
Satellite: haven't gotten that far yet.
