speaking of single issue voters, its pretty widely known that senior citizens are among Bill's most ardent supporters. One reason only: The Dems, led by Clinton and a cheering media, have convinced a vast number of our elderly population that only Clinton can keep their social security checks coming.
How could anyone forget the massive propaganda blitz prior to the 1996 election, whereby the Dems/Clinton beat the drum which said over and over, "if you let a Republican into the White House, Senior citizens will be eating dog food. Your Mother will be eating dog food. Your Father and your Mother will be cut off from their critical prescription medicines. They might even be out on the street, unable to stay any longer in their senior citizen's home. You will have to derail your career because you will have to spoon-feed your mother every meal of thin gruel that she is allowed under Republican plans."
And the reality is, senior citizens across America, past working years, on fixed income, already somewhat or wholly dependent on others, got scared. There is no way they were going to take a chance on a Republican. They could care less about sex acts in any form, and who lied about what to who. Just don't make them eat dog food.
All in all, the whole plan to indoctrinate the senior citizens was hugely successful. That's why nobody cares about perjury, obstruction, etc by Clinton. They may not even care if Bill did admit that he raped Juanita Broaddrick. |
