I basically use two brokers, MBT and E-schwab, and to a lesser extent ABWatley.

On every one of your headings except one, MBT and ABWatley are streets ahead of Schwab. The one exception is availability of shortable stocks.

If you trade seriously, you are doing yourself a disservice if you don't use a direct entry system like Realtick, which is offered by ABW and MBT.

I can't do justice to it by writing about it. You have to use it to believe it.

Today I made 50 cents in ORCL by buying pre-open and selling at the open -and I don't believe many people made money from the long side in ORCL today - and another 75 cents in AMZN at the end of the day. Both would have been impossible thru Schwab (the AMZN trade took all of 30 seconds), and I happen to think Schwab is one of the best of the on-line brokers. With Schwab today, I tried to get into their system at around 3:55 to buy some TX for a short term position, and the site didn't even respond.

(Man, I sound like the most blatant hypester ever to appear on SI.)

For commissions, there are a lot cheaper than Schwab, MBT and ABW. But you get what you pay for, I think.

P.M. me if you want more.
